Anna's 4th Birthday

The theme for Anna's 4th birthday was 'Pony Princess', and what fun the kids (and adults) had! Anna's mum, Yee Send is a birthday party planner and she definitely brought the level of fun with this one through the roof.

I photographed Anna's party last year too, and it was wonderful meeting familiar faces again. Its amazing how much a kid grows in a year.

Enjoy the photos, and as a bonus to all Mums out there, I've included Yee Send's part planning service details after the images. Check it out and give her a ring for your child's next birthday party :)

For anyone interested in having Yee Send plan their child's birthday party, give her a ring at 012.392.7898 or email her at yeesend@gmx.net

Here is a summary of her party planning experience, in her own words :)

------------------------

I have been doing kids' party planning for over a year, previously I was more into wedding, family reunion, kids' playgroup activities, etc. Since I have 2 young children of my own, I know what most parents are looking for and what normal party planners may missed out. I have organized parties in homes, condos, Westin Hotel, Mt. Kiara Equestrian Club, KidsZone in Hartamas Shopping Center, National Science Center, Fire Station, Helicoptor Hanger, etc.

My objective is "Party with a Difference". I create special themes which everything focus on the particular theme the parents choose (From food presentation, party deco, craft, games, party packs, etc). I specialize in parties for 1 to 5 years old. Others are case-by-case basis.

The following are some of the services I can provide :
  • Plan the whole Party Program
  • Liase with venue, photographer, videographer, caterer
  • Greeting Table
  • Kids' name labels, temporary tattoo, nail art, face painting
  • Decorations
  • Menu Suggestions
  • Invitation Card Suggestions
  • Party Activities - Games, songs, dance, storytelling, etc.
  • Cake Pick up
  • Craft Making
  • Party Packs
  • Dress up as theme Character - Fairy Queen, Mermaid princess, Safari Master, Beach Babe, Hawaiian, Red Indian etc.
  • Provide theme costumes for kids

Some of the themes I have done are Mermaid Island, Fairy Princess, Garden Fairy, Under the Sea, Musical fun, Butterfly, Rainbow, Rabbit Hop, Fire Fighter, Pilot, etc. 3 more Parties that are coming up are Japanese Koi (KL Koi Center), Teddy Bear Tea Party and Aircraft Surprise Party (guests go on real helicopter rides). All the parties are customized and need a lot of preparation, so to avoid disappointment, I usually ask clients to book at least 3 weeks in advance.

Kids these days are so lucky :)

The Healys

During my time so far as a family portrait photographer, I've photographed a few families that wanted some final memories in Malaysia before they settle down in a new country. The Healys is one such family.

I spoke to Kate Healy one day and she wanted such memories before they they moved to New Zealand.

It's bittersweet for me when I shoot such sessions as I know there's a chance we won't be meeting again after they've left Malaysia. I look forward to my relationship with my clients as I see their children grow, and many times I photograph a family year after year.

Anthony & Kate, I wish you all the best with your new life in NZ, I'm sure your two beautiful kids will keep you more than occupied with outdoor activities there :)

Enjoy!

Khazanah Nasional - Khazanah Megatrends Forum 2008

This year's edition of the annual Khazanah Megatrends Forum was held over two days at the end of October 2008. It is a gathering of the business & financial industry's top people to discuss, as the title of the forum states, the big trends in the business world.

One of the perks of being the official photographer for such an event is the chance to listen to some very interesting speakers. Datuk Seri Panglima Andrew Sheng impressed everyone with his grasp of numbers without referring to any notes, while Dato' Sri Idris Jala as expected was straight talking, funny & inspirational.

Many thanks to my friend Ariff Thani for being my second photographer and to Sadnawaty & Azlin from Khazanah Nasional for the warm hospitality.
