Of Baklava, Dates & Lasagna

Hi everyone,

Today I came home to the super smell of Lasagna, my favourite dish after Pizza. It's nice having a spouse who can cook so well especially at replicating dishes that at restaurants. Eating out isn't cheap these days & this makes it feel like I'm not missing out on the goodies.

The store bought item was the baklava which was sourced from this nice shop near Ampang Point shopping centre. They'll be opening a Syrian ice-cream parlor soon next to the sweets shop. My wife can't wait for the pistachio ice-cream, yumm!!!

As Ramadhan is approaching soon, now is the time many people make up their missed fasting days from last year's Ramadhan & also perform optional fasting. Hence the dates & tea which are common breaking of fast items.

Enjoy!

Mariam's Cooking - Nasi Lemak, Mee Hoon Soto & Bawang Goreng!

She's back!

My super wife, Mariam is whipping up yummy meals in the kitchen once again now that Isa is growing up fast & can play on his own hence giving her some free time.

Over the weekend she teamed up with her mom to cook up some Malaysian favourites: Nasi Lemak & MeeHoon Soto.

My wife's favourite snack is bawang goreng. She can munch on them all day long & actually prefers them over chocolate and ice-cream!

Enjoy!

Basel's Market, Switzerland

Before my Swiss trip, my wife told me in very clear terms that I must visit at least 1 marketplace. Its something that we will do when we visit any new place as that is where one can find oddities that are unique to a place. Not to mention lovely food which we are both passionate about :)

I wish could bring back the cheese, bread, olives & more chocolate! But limited luggage space (actually limited budget is closer to the truth) I had to come home almost empty handed. There's always next time & with wifey along, the food budget will be at least 60% of total allocation.

My friend Azahari isn't quite into the whole cheese movement yet heheh

The items that were much cheaper there even after converting into Ringgit were the strawberries & cherries. We had a field day with those 2 items.

I leave the beautiful scenes below of Basel's market & river to do the talking ;)
